EPC has provided electrical engineering support for CleanCo’s upgrades at Kareeya Hydro Electric Power Station, working on the generating units and the systems that serve the station.
Units 1 to 4 at CleanCo’s Kareeya Hydro Electric Power Station received new governor controls for their four 22 MW Pelton wheel turbines. EPC contributed electrical engineering support during installation and commissioning of Woodward controllers, Protech GII overspeed protection and Easygen synchronisers.
CleanCo’s work at Kareeya Hydro Electric Power Station included replacing and upgrading the existing fire alarm controls. EPC provided electrical engineering support for the main station fire system project.
CleanCo replaced the existing battery systems at Kareeya Hydro Electric Power Station with electrical engineering support from EPC. The work covered both the 24 V DC and 110 V DC systems.
A new SEPAM fault location protection relay formed part of the K5 unit protection upgrade at CleanCo’s Kareeya Hydro Electric Power Station. EPC’s electrical engineering work supported installation of the relay.
A new ABB vacuum circuit breaker replaced the Schneider sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) gas circuit breaker at CleanCo’s Kareeya Hydro Electric Power Station. EPC supported the electrical engineering for the replacement of the outdoor 24 kV breaker on K5.
A 66 kV power line running through a World Heritage site required replacement as part of work at CleanCo’s Kareeya Hydro Electric Power Station. EPC provided electrical engineering support for the project.
