66/6.6kV power lines and Substation (SS) 38 to be relocated in order for mining operations to continue with the R32 pit.
Project purpose is to install 66kV Circuit breakers and integrated arc flash protection including differential protection on 12 transportable mining substations.
The effectiveness of the existing Ramp 20 communications tower diminished with the advance of mining operations thus requiring the need for a new communications tower.
The Thermal Coal Plant at BMA Blackwater needed a new 22 kV substation because its existing substation no longer complied with Australian and coal-mining standards. The scope included replacing and relocating its metering panel. Mark Clarke divided the work into packages for metering-related works, switchgear supply and switchgear installation. He evaluated tenders, coordinated switchgear offloading and mobilised an electrical contractor for installation.
Light vehicles travelling on haul roads were the concern behind this Blackwater assignment. Its scope was the design and installation of five solar-powered, access-controlled boom gates at locations across the mine. The gates were intended to minimise light-vehicle traffic on those roads.
This Blackwater assignment covered the design and installation of two tramp-iron magnets across stacker/reclaimer conveyor belts. Each of the two tramp-iron magnets at Blackwater weighed 10 tonnes. The two magnets were installed across the belts identified as TCV 603 and 607.
At BMA Saraji, Work Pack 4 focused on the fines circuit in the coal handling and processing plant (CHPP). The assignment involved the design and installation of several plant modifications, with each change directed at debottlenecking the fines circuit at Saraji.
The Rangal Dam assignment replaced an obsolete pontoon motor control centre. Its scope was the design and installation of a new containerised pump station. The replacement was undertaken for BMA Assets and Infrastructure as part of the Rangal Dam pump station upgrade.
